Pre-Arrival & Aftercare Guide
What to prepare before your consultation, and how to care for your skin once you're home — general guidance to help you arrive ready and recover well.
Getting Ready for Your Consultation
A few simple steps that help Dr. Kwon assess your skin accurately at your first visit.
What to Bring
- Recent photos of your skin concern, taken in natural light, if you have them
- A brief history of your skin concern — when it started, what you've tried
- A list of current medications and any known allergies
- Any prior dermatology records or diagnoses, if available
In the Days Before
- Avoid sunburn and heavy tanning in the days leading up to your visit
- Consider pausing strong actives (retinoids, exfoliating acids) briefly beforehand — ask us if unsure
- Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup so your skin can be assessed clearly
- Get a good night's sleep — jet lag can make skin look temporarily different
Caring for Your Skin Afterward
General aftercare principles that apply to most treatments — your actual aftercare instructions from the clinic always take priority over this general guidance.
Follow your specific aftercare sheet first. Every treatment has its own recovery guidance, and what Dr. Kwon tells you at your visit always overrides the general points below. If anything is unclear after you've left the clinic, message us on WhatsApp.
Protect From the Sun
Sun protection matters more than usual after most dermatology treatments. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and limit direct sun exposure, especially for the first days after treatment.
Keep Skincare Gentle
Stick to a simple, gentle routine — cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen — until you're told it's fine to reintroduce actives like retinoids or exfoliants.
Avoid Heat, Sweat & Alcohol Where Advised
For some procedures, you may be asked to avoid saunas, intense exercise, or alcohol for a short period. Follow whatever timeframe you're given at your visit.
Message Us With Any Questions
Once you're back home, you can still reach the clinic on WhatsApp if something about your recovery is unclear or unexpected.
